Mel (First-calf Heifer) $2,600 SOLD
This is a lovely Rambling Bob heifer out of Minnie! She’s a sweet, quiet-natured girl, very well put together and so nice & thick. I’m super excited to bring Minnie’s genetics back to my herd through Melody & look forward to watching her mature.
Mel has calved and is being a great momma. She has the lovely udder she was bred for and calmly settled into the milking routine. She should have really good milk volume once she hits third lactation, given Minnie’s 4+ gallons/day, and will be a great family milk cow.
Mel has given me a beautiful heifer to keep as her replacement, and since Tip & Mel are full-sibs, it just makes sense to sell her, even though I really hate to see her go so soon. She’ll be ready to leave for a new home in November once Birdie is weaned. Mel is halter trained, trained to milk, and bred back for a spring 2023 calf.
11/28/22 SOLD! Mel has gone to her new home to be a family milk cow.
